Introduction Today marks World Water Monitoring Day, a day dedicated to raising awareness about the importance of water quality and the need for sustainable management of water resources. While this day is celebrated in many parts of the world, it highlights a stark contrast between developed nations and developing countries; where access to clean water remains a significant challenge. This article explores the difficulties faced by third-world countries in achieving access to clean water, the implications of these challenges and the urgent need for government and international interventions. The Global Water Crisis Water is essential for life, yet billions of people around the world lack access to safe drinking water. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), approximately  2 billion people  live in countries experiencing high water stress. In many developing countries, access to clean water is limited due to a combination of factors; including poverty, inadequate infrastructu
